We ❤️ Frankston

Our Frankston store has just released a new menu, so we thought what a better time to catch up with Chef Rhys, and the legendary Nhi to chat about what’s going on in town, what the inspiration was for the menu and as the new-ish kids at the helm of Frankston, what’s new in the zoo.

RHYS - Past year at Frankston has been a roller coaster with staff rotating around other venues and new management stepping up. It’s a wild ride, but also super exciting to see fresh eyes and new ideas.

For the coming year I really want customers to enjoy our menu as their staple go-to for coffee and food. I’m looking forward to being able to grow our store and implement some new sustainable practices.

You can bring your home grown produce and we’ll swap it for coffee. You might even see your lovingly grown produce on the menu. Ask the crew about the Produce Swap next time you’re in.

This menu was a whole lot of fun to create. I wanted to go more American diner style with an array of big loaded sandwiches with our own smoked meats.
We bring a lot of freshness to the menu with some other dishes that are not bread heavy but lighter and fresh using some epic local produce.
Our Turkish bread and homemade Napoli are just some of the items made entirely in house.

We have so many incredible coffee producing partners, we thought why not include some of their native fare in our menus too. An homage to our Brazilian growers is the Granola - coconut granola, banana, seasonal fruit, coconut yoghurt + acai sorbet.

My favourite dish would have to be the Cuban sandwich. Full of flavour and taken to the next level by smoking the pork. All time favourite!

NHI - We’ve seen some faces come and go recently, along with myself and Rhys stepping into new roles. But the one constant has been without a doubt the Frankston customers! We can’t thank our regulars enough, those who've put their trust into an ever evolving crew.

This menu is a culmination past and present Folkers, it’s something that Rhys has worked hard on and we know that it reflects what our customers like to enjoy on the daily. We love food, and especially local produce, and we’ve put a lot of effort to make sure everything is top notch, wallet friendly and enjoyable day after day.

My favourite dish? The parma sanga, who can say no to a parma?! Fresh, house made, finger licking, gooey cheese - what more can you ask for? No need to head to a pub, we've got the beers here too!

We’re dedicated to producing the best food and coffees in Frankston! We’re proud to be the place to go for holiday makers, where locals run to, and here for anyone who wants to know what Commonfolk is about!

Swing by Commonfolk Frankston next time you’re in town. The new menu definitely will not disappoint.
