Blak Fig is a social enterprise training cafe established by First People’s Health and Wellbeing in Frankston. Blak Fig provides entry-level, on-the-job training opportunities and qualifications for First Nations people in Frankston and surrounding areas. Through mentoring and a culturally safe workplace, Blak Fig supports local mob to overcome some of the barriers they may face on the pathway to long-term employment.

Blanc Bakery is in the heart of Berwick where the primary focus is fresh artisan sourdough bread and hand rolled croissants made daily. Their goal is to always ensure a high quality product sourced from local suppliers or supporting small business wherever possible.

After 15 years experience in the industry, James and Rachel first opened the doors December 2021 and ever since then have been baking up a storm & commenced their journey in their family owned business. Their business model is simple - good bread, good people & good coffee to match. Blanc has become a treasured piece of Berwick, open to everyone 7 days a week!

Follow the line of people down Mount Eliza Way, and you’ll likely end up at Bütterken Bakery. This German-style bakery churns out sourdough baked goods and Commonfolk coffee to hoards of locals collecting their daily bread.

Inside, freestanding racks are stacked with artisan loaves including their signature Bütterken Sourdough, Schwarzbrot, and German Rye. Piles of pretzels are hand-rolled daily and fermented overnight. The hospitality industry is the Mornington Peninsula’s largest employer. At any one time there are 200 unfilled hospitality positions. The peninsula also has one of the highest levels of youth unemployment in Australia. HomeGround is a social enterprise aiming to bridge the gap between unemployed youth and vacant hospitality jobs. HomeGround provides vocational training for unskilled youth by partnering with companies like Commonfolk. It also serves delicious coffee and nutritious food to one of the poorest communities on the peninsula.

Everyone likes to be in on a secret and that’s exactly what Hunter Cafe & Store wants to be. The locals of St Andrews Beach and the back of Rye probably hope it stays that way because if word gets out there’ll be lines out the door in no time. Hunter is also the first totally vegan cruelty free cafe in Rye. Jaye, Kim and the team pump out delicious coffee made from Commonfolk’s Godfather espresso blend. Founded in late 2021, Ritual is located upstairs in Bayside Shopping Centre just near Henry’s Mercato. Owned and operated by Dale and Adrian (both hospitality pros) and backed by a team of super talented coffee frothers, Ritual are super keen to bring quality and sustainably sourced specialty coffee to the locals. That Spirited Lot Distillers began as a wild idea between brothers Jon-Paul (JP) and Chris Willigenburg in 2016. It was a lifelong dream of theirs to work together on a project that captured their love for tastes and flavours and distilling offered a perfect new adventure.
