Rhys is growing a mo for movember

The month of Movember is more than just growing a questionable moustache. It’s about inspiring conversation to help break the stigma of men’s health. It’s about changing the face of men’s health for the better – through getting active, raising awareness, and creating conversation.

"The Buzz That Counts” is a very special collaboration by Commonfolk Coffee and The Barber Shop and Co. - with 25% of sales from ‘The Buzz That Counts’ coffee beans for home brewing and 1.5L cold brew boxes donated directly to Movember.

A sweet pastry and chocolate-like blend of coffee from our Ugandan and Colombian partners, ‘The Buzz That Counts’ gives men’s health the wakeup call it needs. Why not create a buzz this month by sharing a socially distanced coffee or virtual brew with a bud. The men in your life will thank you for it.

We’ve joined The Barber Shop and Co’s Movember team with an open invitation to any and all, near and far, young and old.  Funds raised through ‘The Buzz That Counts’ label will be donated here. Whether growing a mo, giving the movement goals a crack or sipping some buzzy coffee, we’d love to see you involved.

While you’re at it, remember to fill your own cup - these self-care tips are a great starting place:

- KEEP ACTIVE

- MAINTAIN A BALANCED DIET

- TRY SOME RELAXATION TECHNIQUES

- STAY IN CONTACT WITH FRIENDS

And here's four simple steps to help you navigate a conversation with a friend who might be doing it tough:

 1. ASK. Start by asking how they’re feeling. It’s worth mentioning any changes you’ve picked up on: have they stopped replying to texts? Do they sound different on the phone? Have they gone quiet in the group chat?

 2. LISTEN. Give them your full attention. Let them know you’re hearing what they’re saying and you’re not judging. You don’t have to diagnose problems or offer solutions, but asking questions lets them know you’re listening.

3. ENCOURAGE ACTION. Help them focus on simple things that might improve how they feel. Are they getting enough sleep, exercising and eating well? Maybe there’s something that’s helped them in the past – it’s worth asking.

 4. CHECK IN. Follow up your conversation with a phone call or FaceTime. This helps to show that you care; plus, you’ll get a feel for whether they’re feeling any better.
