Sustainability Yo.

Our sustainability initiative has and always will be to leave the planet in better condition than we found it. We aim to tread lightly and leave as little an environmental footprint as possible. We set out to never compromise for convenience or cost and if there is a way we can give the environment a leg up, we’ll aim to do it.

If we can afford to (and sometimes when we can’t) we always choose to reuse, compost or recycle, encouraging and resourcing you, our customers to minimise your environmental impact by providing reusable, recyclable or compostable packaging, streamlining discounts for using your own cups or containers, and offering a great range of ethical and reusable products.

Just one of our missions was to reduce our reliance on power from the grid.

The icing on our sustainable cake, by far was being able to install solar. In early 2020, we installed a 35kW solar system on our roof, partnering it with an energy storage system from Tesla

Our solar panels have significantly reduced our energy consumption from the grid, teamed with switching all of our lights to LED, we’re successfully reducing our carbon footprint, yay!

Using our solar system, in FY20/21 we are aiming to more than halve our carbon footprint and generate over 50 per cent of our own power requirements directly from the sun.

We prioritise working with like-minded folk, and make a deliberate effort to partner with environmentally conscious suppliers wherever possible.

Moving forward we plan to continue to encourage and resource you to minimise your environmental impact by providing reusable, recyclable or compostable packaging, extending discounts for using your own cups or containers, and expanding our range of ethical and reusable products, and a few surprises.
