It’s time for a level up. FKA Horse, this coffee earned a joke name around the fact that Bududa’s natural process was the Unicorn of Mt Elgon. Clean, sweet, minimal funk. Its little sibling, Bududa washed, was always forced to have the lesser of the two names.

Bududa’s processing for many years was only natural, but with funds raised via The Cup That Counts (TCTC), Zukuka Bora managed to purchase a place to call home in the region. This led to more space and more ability to purchase from the small holders that genuinely call Bududa home. With that in 2023, Bududa Washed was born, and year on year, it gets better and better. Washed is often considered the original “specialty coffee” process. You could say Bududa put the cart before the horse with this coffee.

This year it’s full of stone fruits like nectarine and plum. with crisp nashi pear and rounds it all out with syrupy sweetness, like maple or cola.

The workhorse of our current seasonal getting some time to shine on it's own. Not quite as sweet as its cousin Wanale, still fruity but brighter with some more of that good cola acidity.

Try 21/48/28 as a jumping off point, and then drop the yield if you're wanting to push that brightness.
