This year marks the fourth release of our Nicaraguan 'La Venus' micro-lot, made from 100% Java, a varietal rarely found in Nicaragua. Just as the goddess Venus has donned many guises throughout history, this year we turn our gaze to Venus Cloacina, the goddess of purification and transformation. Venus Cloacina, known for her role in cleansing and rejuvenating, reminds us of the beauty that emerges from transformation—much like the intricate process behind this natural coffee. With each year, this lot has evolved, and the 2024 harvest showcases a further refinement in its profile. After the ripest cherries are handpicked and dried on raised beds, natural fermentation gives way to a vibrant and complex cup. Expect flavours as captivating as the sacred waters Venus Cloacina presided over, with tasting notes of hazelnut chocolate, preserved lemon, and sour gummies—a playful yet balanced combination that swirls on the palate with depth and brightness.
