I’m so glad Keremba named his farms

Tamu Tamu translates to sweet, tasty or yum yum. We prefer the latter for this brew as it definitely hits the mark. This microlot is sourced from Communal Shamba proper, produced by Keremba Warioba, his wife Dr. Mkunde Chachage, and their team.

Until very recently, Keremba and his wife’s farms at Communal Shamba had the names "Big" and “Little”, you can probably guess why. Since then, they have been officially dubbed Mkubwa Kidogo and La Kibabe. Mkuubwa Kidogo roughly translates to “Small Giant" and is the larger of the two plots. Here they practice regenerative land practices, such as shade trees and intercropping, along with integrating livestock for circular composting. La Kibabe roughly translates to “The Daring or The Bold”, its purpose is to push for more experimental processing. As the smaller of the two it cannot house livestock, but will still be purpose led with regenerative agriculture.

Tamu Tamu is a honey processed coffee from Mkuubwa Kidogo, bright red hand-picked cherry starts off by being hulled at Communal Shamba’s central pulping unit (CPU), leaving the sticky mucilage layer. Then, the coffee is moved onto raised drying beds to ferment for 24 hours before being mechanically hulled, this quick ferment allows for good flavour development, whilst keeping a clean and bright cup.

Did you know 20c from every kilogram of coffee roasted and every cup sold goes to The Cup That Counts.

No brainer here, a classic CF espresso profile. Soooooper sweet caramel but with heaps of citrus, and orange blossom. Perhaps even a little bit sparkly.
