Elias, his wife Roaslina and their sons have been living and working in coffee at El Eucalipto for over 24 years now. Originally a very traditional commercial coffee producer, but slowly moving towards more modern and quality driven coffee production after learning more about the specialty coffee sector, until 5 years ago taking the leap and producing high quality coffee. Over the last 5 years working with the Caravela PECA team (the educational team Caravela provides for free) to constantly improve and enhance their coffee to be the best it can be, learning about pre-harvest and post-harvest practices to best prepare for great seasons, quality cherry picking, improved processing methods and best drying standards. With future ambitions to add more varietal options and improvements to the drying station to help improve quality and add a wider offering. Elias and his family wish to continuously improve and provide excellent Peruvian coffee, knowing the work is never done, but we can enjoy the delicious results as they strive for perfection. As Elias learns both from PECA and via trial and error, he had these parting words to pass onto Caravela and the roasters who purchase his coffee: “I thank you for your interest in my coffee and hope you keep buying it as it is a clean product, free of agrochemicals. And produced with much effort and care”.
