Honey from Colombia, whatever next?
Maybe Diego knew the Honmoon was weak and needed a little international backup from Colombia to Korea. What he didn’t realise is that his honey would arguably be the highlight of this harvest. This is Diego Campos we’re talking about; world barista champ, coffee wizard, part-time demon hunter (probably). He’s not exactly a stranger to pushing boundaries: first Colombian to take the World Barista Championship crown, and still one of the most inventive producers around. Diego doesn’t often dabble in the honey process; his home stage is usually washed coffees and insane naturals like Sour Strap. But when he does, it’s like watching your favourite pop idol group suddenly drop a prog rock concept album. Unexpected. Bold. Fun.
With Golden, Diego shows just how far his craft can stretch. The honey process adds layers of sweetness and texture that feel almost too good to be real: juicy watermelon freshness, a raspberry tang, all smoothed out by golden syrupy sweetness. It’s balanced, but never boring, a brew that moves through flavour notes like a perfectly choreographed dance routine. Golden proves that when Diego experiments, the result isn’t just another coffee. It’s a statement. It’s sparkle and substance, choreography and chaos, a brew that goes up, up, up in its moment and slays without hesitation. Even demons don’t stand a chance.
Did you know 20c from every kilogram of coffee roasted and every cup sold goes to The Cup That Counts.
